Hi all,
Just a quick update. It snowed about 4 or 5 inches today. Kind of "freshened up" the scenery. All the critters here are doing well and eating like crazy to stay warm and "tozy". I am having another surgery tomorrow a.m. I have to say I am a tad frustrated as I had just gotten over my spinal cord implant surgery, when my mom was in her final days. While we were spending the last days with her, I was rear ended by a truck. In getting over that injury, my shoulder was inadvertently injured. So now I have to have more surgery. "I want to ride my horse". Guess I need the whambulance. Been trying to get everything done before I go in. Of course that didn't happen, as I only had about a week's notice. But that is good. Now that the truck is fixed, I need fixed. haha Then we will be ready for any foals that need us. With all the help from my guys, we will be ready for a foal if need be way sooner than if I had to wait for my arm to be completely healed. Between the three of them and myself (even with one arm), we can take care of just about anything we need to, so that makes it a little bit easier to deal with this as we are right in the beginning of foal season. I have to run and finish trimming the critters' hoofers. Lucky for me, my "super volunteer" Jess, came up and helped me trim most of the critters. I have to do Rocky and Romeo's trims tonight as I won't be able to do it for awhile. PTL for our beautiful nursery so I can bring the boys inside and trim them with light, as it is pretty darn dark outside right now. The baby that was found injured and alone in NV has been taken to the prison where she will receive lots of love and tender care from the guys in the prison program (where they train the mustangs and put them up for adoption). Our group's vet is available for any care she might need, and he is simply awesome and an amazing doc. So she is safe and sound for now. Thank you for all of you who contacted me about her. These are the times when it is so hard to be in CA when most of the urgent needs that I hear about are in Nevada. It is amazing how word travels though. The first call I got about her came from a man in Florida. So the social media does have its place in helping us help the animals. I would appreciate any and all prayers y'all want to send my way. After having well over 40 surgeries, I get kind of nervous about the anesthesia part. But I know God will take care of me. Thank you for all y'all do to keep our rescued animals fed and safe. You are amazing. Looking forward to being back to my "normal" self which isn't that great - but much better than this haha. I need to be able to "git 'er done". Take care and I will probably be out of circulation as I won't be able to type for awhile. God bless P THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US! Matt, Palomino & The Gang
