Baby update - 9 New ones!
4 wild mustang babies AND 5 MORE newborn kittens.
Luckily the kittens came with a wild, untouchable Mama, so only the first batch of kittens still need KMR (kitten milk replacer).
Yesterday I caught one of the local, wild, kittens that moved in, and got her vetted and spayed. One down, 11 to go. So I definitely need help with the Vet Bill.
We are also rescuing a blind rooster and another kitten tomorrow. We are in need of more KMR, Alfalfa and funds to cover all the other meds and expenses.
Doc just came and we had the 4 new mustang babies vet checked and their blood drawn so they can get adopted.
As you can see by the above photots, TONKA is doing awesome.
Check out the before and after of his litl (giant) haha) hoofers. He is a changed horse. No longer a stallion and he has started to learn some amazing manners. He is the biggest love bug you could ever meet.
Misty is hanging in there. Her eyes are much brighter and her infection appears to be gone. She is still very, very skinny, but thankfully it appears she has a good chance. She says thank you to the folks who donated Alfalfa, and Yes Please, she still needs more.
We need hay in NV and will need more groceries for all the kids.

BABY 911 - FOUR? ORPHAN MUSTANGS NEED US NOW!
Seems like the calls never stop. Another one tonight. I have until tomorrow afternoon to let them know if we can save the babies. I was not offered any of the mares, and am told that these babies are weanlings and of age to be off Mama.
This is an extremely time sensitive situation. The other option for them is not one any of us want to think about. There are other buyers willing and waiting to purchase these beautiful babies.
If you have never heard of "tripping" in the hidden rodeos, you are very fortunate.
When you drive by a rodeo ground and there are tarps as high as you can see, well it is pretty horrible what is happening inside. "Tripping" is when the whole "sport" is to rope a wild horse's legs and feet and "trip it". You can only imagine how many broken legs, shoulders, backs etc. happen in this so called "sport".
So I am extremely grateful to have a chance to save these beautiful babies. (No, I haven't seen them, but they are ALL beautiful to me.)
Sadly, since the "so called rescue" that paid the catcher to steal the newborns, bragged about how much they paid for them, ALL the prices have gone up. However, I would rather pay a legit person a legit price for an unharmed, NOT STOLEN baby any day. So we need to raise a bit more than before.
I want to say THANK YOU! for saving Misty. I am pretty sure someone shot her in the head. I have not had any xrays done, and it wouldn't matter anyway. She just has this perfect little hole in her head, and it reminds me of a few of the ones I rehabbed that had been shot.
Regardless, that is why her eye, the right side of her face and the area below the "injury" were so huge. I had to drain it, clean it and pack it in clay. Thankfully the clay did its job, and as you can see in the photos, she is feeling MUCH BETTER.
These infected injuries can cause sepsis and be deadly for these horses. She is definitely not out of the woods yet, especially with her overall condition, but her EYES ARE BRIGHT! and although you can't touch her, and she did kick and bite a bit, she is gonna be a Mama's girl. She is already following me everywhere.
i did have a tiny bit of trauma for me (LOL). For the first time in treating over 100+ of infections like these, she shook her head and got it all over me. It was so disgusting, but she feels so much better I can live with it. She kept shaking her head because so much gunk would fly out. With every bit of pus and blood coming out, she felt SO MUCH BETTER!
But back to the babies. Will you help me save them?

​MISTY UPDATE"
Our beautiful girl is home, but man is she in rough shape. My heart broke watching her come off the trailer.
She is extremely thin, nearly emaciated. She has an injury above her eye that is draining, causing her to have swelling above her eye.
She is covered in bite marks and just a very sad, broken little girl. She does not trust, and you can tell she probably wants to. You can also tell she has not had anyone treat her softly and with any kind of affection.
Now the work begins. Please say a prayer for her and if you can sponsor a bale of Alfalfa in WA for her, that would be amazing. She will need to be seen by Doc, and obviously will need alot of groceries and supplements.
Thank you for saving her and getting her here. She is so precious and only deserves the best from here on out.

The kittens are in need of more milk powder. They are on different antibiotics and finally starting to get healthy. 3 of them are still fighting eye infections, but all in all, they are beginning to thrive. Of course they ONLY play at night lol.
I so appreciate the Kitten milk we received from another Angel. However, they are drinking like baby horses lol, and could really use some more.

​911 For "Misty". She is scheduled to ship to Mexico to be slaughtered in the next few days. I have been contacted by several folks to see if we can help her. She is unhandled, not halter broke and a hot mess.
I need to raise about $3500 to ensure bail, transport costs and get her started on her road to recovery. She will need special feed, training and some serious farrier care once we get her safe enough to work with.
(I always have to include some of the known, upcoming expenses as we need to be able to provide her with the best care possible.)
Misty has NEVER had any of the love and care she deserves. Her hooves look awful, and she is very thin. PLEASE let's give her the life she deserves.
The Mexican Slaughter process is even more cruel and brutal than the process in Canada. She does NOT deserve this. None of the horses do, but she is the one in front of us right now.
I get so many calls that I cannot possibly say yes to all of them. However, God put her in front of me in a manner that made me know we need to save her.
There is actually a transporter coming here, to Camp Chilly Pepper, that is where she is. The shipping is brutal, but since she is already coming here to pick up AVA, (Yes she is adopted - woohooo!), I am getting a huge break on transport.

The truck is STILL in the shop, but nearly ready. Parts are amazingly difficult to come by since covid, arghhh. Of course, there was more damage than initially thought, so I am looking at an additional $1000 - $2000. _Thankfully, y'all donated enough to cover the first $4200, which has already been applied toward that bill. _ However, having reliable equipment is a must. I was definitely NOT expecting the extra costs, so I really appreciate any help with the truck repairs.

Thank you for stepping up and getting the girls their hay. We reached the matching donation goal, and the girls are enjoying their new goodies!! Sadly, Daphnee is still struggling with her weight. We are watching her closely, as there could be underlying issues. At this point, we are hopeful it is due to Delilah being such a good eater. I will keep you updated.
The calls for help keep coming. I received a call early this week for Ava. She is precious and needs our help. She needs Milk Pellets and lots of good groceries, but seems to be feeling pretty well. Her legs were a little bit sore, but she moves like a dream.
Torch has some minor injuries to his face and legs, but also seems to be doing well. Any help for groceries is much appreciated. Doc is schedule to come out and do the blood work and Torch will also need gelded.
I will be posting both babies when they are available for adoption.
Our vet bill is the lowest it has been for awhile, thanks to all of you. PLEASE help me keep it this way, lol.
