Rolling Foal Hospital Update

Hi all,

Hope this finds you well.   As many of you know, we had a van donated for a "rolling foal hospital".  Unfortunately, it requires too much of an investment to get it safe for what we need to do.  We will be selling the van and putting that money towards an enclosed horse trailer with living quarters.  We have been getting calls from WA and other states where there is a desperate need of orphan foal rescue.

We received notice of 5 newly born babies who ended up being given to a man for dog food.  We were unable to travel and pick up those babies simply because we did not have adequate equipment.  We cannot just run around because our emotions tell us to and not be able to provide at least a realistic chance to help save the babies.  We would not be able to provide the temperature controlled "nursery" for them and would not have a place for us to stay while we took care of them in bad weather.  We have to make sure these babies have a real chance before we use the limited funds that exist.  So we had to say no and all I can say is that I hope these babies had a humane death.  They haunt me daily.  The emotional part just wants to jump in and do the best we can with what we have, but that is simply not responsible or even realistic.

We need to be able to travel to the site, whether that be NV or WA or wherever else we are needed, set up a nursery where we can provide A REALISTIC nursery where we can control the temperatures, and then stay there as long as we need to.  This usually would be several days minimum while we waited for paperwork and stabilized the babies.  With a living quarters we can take as long as we need to get home.

My heart is breaking seeing pix of babies we can't help simply because we need the proper trailer.  So please share our "Go fund me" far and wide.  I also believe there is a rather large possibility that somewhere, someone has the perfect (safe not fancy) trailer sitting out in their yard that they no longer need or use.   Often folks don't realize they have a tax donation sitting out collecting dust.
