HONEY BANDIT'S GITTIN' THROUGH WINTER FUNDRAISER

Honey Bandit is asking for your help to get ready for winter.  The rescue has moved to higher ground, (around 4000 elevation) and we are struggling to be ready for winter.  We struggled with leaky structures last winter, and simply have to be much better prepared this winter.  We found a home for Suri, but are expecting another special needs gelding (4 year old) to be arriving soon.  Hmmmm  We placed a baby, but are bringing in a bigger appetite.  Oh well, so goes the rescue.  They can't all be babies. :)  The kittens have found a home in Washington, and will be leaving in the next few weeks.  So the chipmunk, the kittens and Suri will all have been placed in great homes.  yeahhhh!!!
Soooooooooooo,  we are having a raffle to procure supplies for winter, and thankfully, BAILEY CREEK LODGE, which is for sure Manton, California’s best kept secret, has donated two nights for one person at their fly fishing lodge!!!!   (Thank you and God Bless you, Bailey Creek Lodge!!!!!)

Driving through Shingletown and down into Manton, the landscape is beautiful, although pretty rough.  As we get closer to our destination, I am wondering what we will find.  It is NOT looking like the greatest vacation area.  Boy was I in for a shock. J Buried back in the middle of nowhere, across the little bridge, is a piece of paradise.   An oasis of beauty and tranquility, nestled in a spot so secret that many of the locals don’t even know it exists.  After crossing “the bridge”, you come around a corner and the world opens up to beautiful, rolling green lawns.  Suddenly you are in a world far away from the cities, noise and crowds.  The only sounds you hear are the birds singing and the creek dancing its way along, cascading over the boulders.  The sky is a perfect blue, crystal clear without a trace of smog.  The sun streams down, its reflection dancing like diamonds on the pool umbrellas.  Oh yes, let’s not forget the sparkling, perfectly clear pool.  It’s a little bit of heaven, hidden away in Manton.  The rooms are luxurious, and you can walk to Bailey Creek in a matter of minutes, or visit the lake.
Bailey Creek Lodge is famous for its catch and release fly fishing.  People travel from all over the world to visit the fabulous Bailey Creek Lodge.  Ladies, get out there and throw your lines, or if you just want to relax and sit by the pool while your hubby fishes, well this is the place for you.  While you lounge around the pool and stay cool, visiting with your girl friends or your favorite long awaited book, the “boys” can walk to the easily accessible creek and fish away.  Enjoy the Lodge’s own “local” doe and her twins as they visit, grazing on the beautiful lawn.   Then enjoy a fabulous dinner by Chef Kristy and get lulled to sleep by the sounds of the creek.
