Just a quick update to let ya'll know what is going on.  We got back yesterday, via a quick trip to the news station on the way home.  It was wonderful to wrap my arms around Honey Bandit, although he doesn't seem to have missed me that much.  What a brat. :)  After all the time I put in with him, you'd think he'd have a little appreciation. :)  Just kidding.  He is turning into a regular horse.  He isn't so dependent on his people mommy, and that is a good thing for him.  However, it would have been nice if he was way excited when i got here.  Guess he had his daddy and they obviously had a good time.  :) 


What we accomplished in Washington DC is a wonderful start, but we need EVERYONE to send them email, phone calls or post cards to tell the senate to support the House of Representatives.  The link above takes about 20 seconds to fill out and send.  We want to ask each and every senator over and over to support the House's decision on this matter.


Yesterday I let Honey Bandit, Patches and DaBubbles out for a little while when the weather let up.  It is amazing to watch the three of them play.  They are so different in size, yet they adjust their "bites", "kicks" and rough housing accordingly.  You would think Dabubbles would be in danger of being seriously injured, being so much smaller, but that is not the case. 


I want to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us get Honey Bandit's story to Washington DC.  A special thanks to my friend who not only loaned us money for the airline tickets, (which were purchased at the very last minute for a not so nice price), but offered to pay half of the costs.  Without her generosity and  the other help we got, this trip never would have happened.  The timing was so amazing.  When I talked to Jennifer about the trip, she immediately said it was too late, and we could never pull it off.  (our common sense girl)  But, after thinking about the ramifications of what we might be able to accomplish, she changed her mind.  (She is our detail diva, and this leaves me free to care for the critters).  So, we once again "put on our big girl britches" and "got 'er done".   What are the chances we would be able to have 3 days with the House of Representatives, and that the amendment would hit the floor on the end of that third day?  Between Ginger Kathren's video and Honey Bandit's story and photos, there was some real emotion felt.


From the day we got Honey Bandit, God has been guiding us step by step.  For us to have even gotten him was a miracle.  It seems that things are laid out in front of us, and we are just following along the path in front of us.  The fact that Honey Bandit is still here today is definitely a gift from God.  Ya'll saw the condition he was in.   Even with all your help, I could never have pulled him through without angels from above.   That was why we decided that even though financially it was crazy, we could trust that everything would be okay.  This was supposed to happen, and I am eternally grateful that this little man did not go through this for nothing.  HONEY BANDIT IS AMERICA'S POSTER BOY TO STOP THE ROUNDUPS - AND THAT IS BECAUSE HE IS SPEAKING FOR ALL OF THE LITTLE ONES WHO DIED BEFORE AND HAD NO VOICE.  THEIR LIVES NEED TO MATTER AND BE REMEMBERED.  This is Honey Bandit's mission.
