Another Emergency - There are at least two seriously injured babies in WA needing your help. We got an emergency call last night for two injured orphans. Not sure how many came in but two need our help right away. All we know so far is there is a potentially very serious head injury and a leg injury. At this point they are being cared for where they were dropped off by the trappers.
We picked up Eight (8), not 6 last week. All are doing well although lil Emma has some residual issues from her head injury. We are hoping that time will help her heal and she will be just fine. We placed Tig last week. He was not in critical shape, but in desperate need of some tender loving care. He went to a wonderful woman who has just the magic that he needs. What a sweetheart he is. We also placed Misty (the miniature paint) in a wonderful home :) Although saving these horse kids is a spendy and time consuming endeavor, what you are making possible is for each and every one of them to have a chance for a long and happy life. To give you an idea of where your money goes, for the last 8 babies, $ 600 would be bail, plus each Coggins and Health Certificate averaged $130 per each horse, and we went through a few hundred dollars in milk, hay and meds before even leaving Washington. We average a 40# bag of milk for every 2 babies per week, and that is about $600 per week for 8 babies. Then you start figuring bedding, grain, hay, meds, vet costs, etc and it really starts adding up. Of course we always do everything we possibly can ourselves to keep expenses down. We so appreciate what you make possible :) So please say your prayers for safe travel, and that we can help these little ones. I was working on our "thank you's" for all the love and support y'all have sent, but instead we are "on the road again". But please know that we so appreciate everything you do that makes this all possible. We want to thank everyone for being part of saving all of these lives. It means the whole world to each and every horse that we save, and although we can't save them all, we are grateful for all the lives we do save because of folks like you and your love and support.
