Good morning.

As I sit here listening to the pitter patter of the rain, I look out and see 10 babies wandering around the pens.  We are at our Nursery in WA State, and Matt is heading out to pick up another 2 or 3 day old orphan.  Thankfully the trees are providing enough cover to keep the babies from getting wet and they can be out moving about.

These are all orphaned mustangs, some from NV and some from WA.  As if another baby was not overwhelming enough, I received an email from someone saying I was not "helping the mustangs".  Wow, we have mustangs coming out our ears.

Today is one of those days when it is a struggle.  There is never enough money, always too many babies/horses, and so much heartbreak.  These kids are hanging in there, but like most of the orphans, have struggled somewhat to find that balance since they are not on their Mama's.  The work is endless, but how can you walk away?

So we sit here and do our absolute best for these kids.  This blog is going to be from the heart.  It is going to be a way for folks to experience the ups and downs, the happy moments, the heartbreak and the endless work involved.

Hi,  My name is Palomino aka Lauri Armstrong.  We are WIN, dba Chilly Pepper - Miracle Mustang.  This is my rescue, and my husband works along side of me.  We rescue wild horses and specialize in the care of critically injured,  ill and neonatal foals and horses.  We do mainly wild mustangs, but rescue pretty much whatever God puts in front of us, and here is where I will be sharing some of our adventures.
