Things are great here EXCEPT for the fact there is no running water. With 22 horses, running water is a huge necessity. I am so thankful for each and every life we have saved or changed. I am thankful for each and every donation y'all have sent. The truck is fixed and paid for. Thank you! We need $1400 to finish paying off both vet bills. Doc really needs to come out asap and decide the best treatment for Moonshine. She is really struggling with her injured hips and I need to pay off the bill prior to him coming back out. I have no idea how much it will be to fix the well, and hopefully someone will be coming out tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted with regards to the water and the repairs.    My heart is once again shattered into a million pieces. I honestly am not sure if I can keep doing this. I am not even sure I want to. It hurts too much. I can't stop crying and it makes me physically sick.
We had to end Trojan's suffering. As you can see in the photo, he was gaining weight at a perfect rate. Sadly the damage to his heart from being starved nearly to death was his death sentence. I am devastated and furious. I can't stop crying. I am grateful God gave me the chance to love and spoil this beautiful boy, but there is nowhere for the anger to go. People need to STOP STARVING THESE HORSES. I am also beyond DONE WITH having to put down horses that should have been loved enough to have their suffering ended. I have had to do this so many times in the last 20 years that I am empty and broken. On top of that, I have to raise money to cover the vet bills. I owe Doc Zimmerman $1180. This includes the euthanasia and having him buried, and the other 2 getting their hooves done. We owe Goldendale Vet $250 +/- so we could get Tarzan home. The hay arrived yesterday. 8 Bales was $873.40. I need help with all that and am still a bit short for the truck repairs. I should be able to pick that up this afternoon? Moonshine's hips are horrible, and this is causing great concern whether she will be able to, or should even be asked to carry her baby to term. I will be relying on Doc to make any decisions that need made. There is a very good chance I will need to care for her baby once it is born. We HAVE to order at least one bag of Plasma. Audrey has gained a ton of weight and looks fabulous. She still has infection and it looks like it might be in her bone. So far she is happy and thriving considering. Trying to fundraise when you are broken is horrible. None of it is for me, but I have to be their voice. I so appreciate everyone who has stepped up to help. This summer has been much harder financially as I have had to hire a part time ranch had due to my broken bone/injuries. Y'all have been awesome but I simply can't do it without my ranch hand right now. I am doing this alone, and it is really hard. As I said, without my ranch hand, it would not be happening, and I am sorry it takes more funds, but the horses are well cared for, the place is clean and that makes for happy kids. Truck is in the shop, and hopefully it will be finished Wednesday. I moved it to another shop, so hopefully it will be less than quoted prior. We are still short for the repairs. We need to get more Alfalfa and pick up the special feed, grain and supplements these pregnant mares need. I also need to order at least one bottle of Colostrum, and that costs between $500 - $750 from what I was quoted recently. We paid about $500 last time. We need more milk powder, as these mares could easily come up short nursing, due to their long term starvation. Purina Mare's Match is normally about $116 per 20#bucket. That lasts a few days. You can order it on Amazon, and please make sure it is powder, not pellets. UPDATE on the Saturday Surprise kids. Whisper appears to be very pregnant, and she is still emaciated. She is gaining weight nicely, but it is imperative that she gets the feed she needs for her unborn baby as well as herself. Moonshine is also appearing to be very pregnant. Sorry about the crooked photo, but it clearly shows the only thing on her that is not skin and bones is her bulging baby belly. She also has a very serious hip injury. Both of these girls need the best care possible. We are on the LAST bale of Alfalfa. All three eat like they are starved. Oh Yeah - They WERE! They are gaining weight as fast as is healthy for them. We will be adding special grain, supplements and as much feed as they can SAFELY get at this point. Bradley is still extremely underweight, and ALL of them have suffered for the last year at the very least, barely staying alive while the other 4 starved to death in their pastures. There is no telling how much permanent damage there is, especially for the babies. Thank you for helping these kids. This is the truck that is down and needs urgent help. I have personally pulled over 100,000 loaded miles for the rescue. We currently are running a trailer that is 4 feet shorter, but still heavy, especially when loaded. The other trailer is a heavy duty, 3 box stock trailer and that is also extremely heavy when loaded. This truck has hauled hundreds and hundreds of horses, starved, wild, injured and sick. I thought some of you might like to see how hard she works and why it is so important that I keep her in perfect condition, safe and running efficiently. The repairs ensure that I can safely stop and pull up and down the hills. THANK YOU, as always. The horses love you! When I started this rescue, I owned 2 homes that were paid off, a Custom Harley, a jet boat, a corvette, a custom truck, and financially I was pretty set. Now I live in a singlewide that leaves much to be desired, have no more toys and have given everything I can to save these horses. I simply have nothing left. The new kids are settling in well. I am so surprised that they have such thick coats when they are so starved. Yes, we have had much worse, but considering there were 4 total that had passed from starvation on the property, I seriously needed to say yes. I do have a very urgent plea for help. The truck is in the shop, cannot be driven until it is fixed, and the estimate ranged from $2500 to as high as $9,000 worst case scenario - IF the turbo and assembly needed replaced. I will know more in the next few days, but Chilly Pepper need this truck running. It for is used for hauling, feeding, and anything and everything the rescue needs. The horses and donkeys rely on everything this truck respresents. We cannot move without it. We are now down to 2 bales left of Alfalfa. Bales are around $100 or more, and are between 1000-2000 pounds. These kids are hungry, and with the other starvation cases we recently picked up, the Alfalfa is disappearing at an amazing rate. Another load should be around $1400. I will post more photos as soon as I have a chance. THANK YOU! as always.
