Sadly, the horses were in much worse shape than I thought. Audrey needed emergency surgery today!!! and that is what happened this morning. I was concerned, as we were still around $2000 short even before the surgery. I had to go on pure Faith, and said YES to the surgery. Several hours later, the phone rang. One of our donors had seen we were short the $2000+ for the rescue and said she WILL MATCH EVERY PENNY up to $1000. Any funds donated after (2:24) on Thursday afternoon will be matched up to $1000. Woohooo! Prayers answered. So with her amazing matching funds, we can at least reach the funds needed to have responsibly taken on these horses. What a beautiful blessing for these horses y'all are! Please help us get that match! Trojan also got to see Doc, so now we wait on his bloodwork. Thank you everyone who has donated so far, and NOW, let's get those matching funds. Audrey may need another surgery. Doc surgically removed the screw that was backing out and causing the infection, and hopefully she will not need another one. At this time, it is unknown. It's crunch time. I said I would take these 2 critical care cases. However, we have raised approximately $350 towards the $5000 we are expecting to need when you consider hauling, vetting, special care and possibly surgery. We need more clay as well. If we can't raise enough to take care of these two kids and give them a chance at a decent life, then I cannot have them picked up. Y'all raised most of the money we needed for Miracle, and he is chilling at Chilly Pepper. However, we need funds for these precious souls. THEY RODE THESE HORSES AT A KID'S CAMP IN THIS CONDITION. Animal control is involved, but they desperately need medical attention, which is why I was contacted to help. I have worked together with the rescue that is working directly with animal control, and I jumped and said "YES", my Chilly Pepper Family will want to help them. Audrey has a metal plate in her leg, (that is what I was told). It is full of pus and oozing and that can be potentially deadly. TROJAN IS AT LEAST 30, and being starved so badly can also be deadly. He needs us now! Please help us save them. I will promise you I cannot pick one and not both. We need enough funds to save both of them. Thank you so much for everyone who donated for Miracle. When it rains, it pours. I received an urgent 911 call for 2 SENIORS. One is 30 plus, and nearly starved. The other one has a plate in her leg that has been oozing pus? for a long time. BOTH of these horses were used for Camp Horses and ridden even though they could barely move. I am working with another rescue, and she asked me to take these special needs while they are taking the (less medically urgent ) animals left behind. I was asked specifically to take this pair because of the medical issues. As I was told, the mare is in DIRE need of medical attention for her leg. She needs groceries and the gelding is a 1 out of 10 on the scale for body score. THEY NEED URGENT AND IMMEDIATE CARE and I said yes. We need funds to get them, pay for the initial vetting, Coggins, health certs, transport fees and to begin their emergency medical care asap. For a senior that age to be starved, it raises serious issues about being able to save him. You can't just starve them and expect them to be just fine. Prayers his organs are not damaged. Her leg is causing agonizing pain and could be causing sepsis and who knows how much damage. I need to start critical care as soon as possible. I will send photos as soon as I can. Jax's shoulder is a mess, but he is getting the excellent care he needs. He is moving well, but this will be a very long road. Had a little bit of fun with Miracle in the chute yesterday. He had his initial vet appointment and all went well, in spite of a few jumps in the chute. We still have not begun to cover the medical and special fees for Miracle, and now I have to ask for help for the 2 seniors. They have been living through hell on earth, and whether or not they have years or a short time left, they need to have it here, spoiled and loved and taken care of for their remaining time. Wow, you can't even make this stuff up. I received an urgent call for "Miracle". Miracle is described as a cryptorchid, one-eyed, unhandled 7-13 year old stallion who WILL BE SHOT IN THE HEAD by the previous owner this coming Saturday or Sunday if he is not picked up and off the property. He looks like he could possibly need surgery on his eye, and that surgery and the cryptorchid surgery can be extremely expensive. For those who might be wondering, when a stallion is a "cryptorchid", it means one of his testicles did not drop and is floating around or stuck somewhere in his abdomen. Right now, all I am concerned about is raising funds so we can responsibly pick up this horse BEFORE it is too late. Look at that face. I am sorry but as far as I can tell he is NOT READY for a bullet in the head. PLEASE HELP us save his life. He absolutely will need special care, but he does NOT deserve to die because he is a special needs kind of kid. Please help us raise the funds for hauling, vetting, long term care and feed. As y'all know the list goes on and on, lol. "Miracle" needs to come to Chilly Pepper - MIracle Mustang asap!! I simply cannot do it without your help. Jax update. Jax needs your help today. He was a "behind the scenes rescue", and last night showed up with this injury. We are on the way to see Doc now. Any help with the vet bill and for his rescue and to feed and care for him would be greatly appreciated. (It cost quite a bit to rescue him, especially being behind the scenes, ughhh.) I will post after Doc sees him and let y'all know what he says. The wound is really deep and there is alot of separation inside. His muscle seems to be affected and he was having issues walking. My broken arm has really slown things down, but the horses are all thriving. We still need to get some more small bales of hay. I have been so blessed with finding some local help, and I cannot tell you thank you enough for making that happen. I definitely need to keep him around for at least a few months, so any help with his pay is greatly appreciated. Rowdy has started to be weaned off his Mama, and for now he and Cherry are hanging out together. It is so nice for both babies to keep each other company. Lil Man, our latest BLM child, is getting huge. His leg is less swollen and he is running around like crazy with Feather and Sampson. He is going to be so tall, and he is just living life right now. Sampson, the teenager (approx 16 years) is looking for his home. He is gentle and smart and will be easily trained I imagine. He is a failed bucking prospect. Feather is at the perfect age to be started and is looking for her new home. Thank you for supporting our ranch hand and helping buy the feed and hay these kids are devouring.
