  Heading for an emergency vet visit with Grandma Gracie and Destiny.
Some of the stitches where Destiny had her surgery have broken open. I still have not paid any towards her surgery, and I know Doc is gonna need some money today. We are still short about $1300 and now I need funds to pay my driver as well. These kids are going to need lots of special feed, supplements and prayers. Please help and thank you to all those who have already donated. Grandma Gracie, Selena and the unborn JJ are now safe and being given the critical care they need. However, after seeing Gracie's condition, as well as the other starved palomino, we realized she could not just "pop her on a transport and live to make it home." So my partners in crime loaded up their trailer and headed straight to Texas, prepared to provide the critical care they so desperately needed. Danny and Danniell are the folks I know and would trust to provide the kind of critical care these kids need. This is what both of our rescues do, and I am so grateful they wasted no time in heading down. I am hoping and praying the horses will be ok, but at least we know everything is being done. Then after seeing the horses "in person" and the actual reality of how desperately they needed care, they called me and we left to meet them on the trip back. We raised about $1200 of the $2500 we needed, and now I also need to pay my driver. The horses are safe from slaughter and heading home, but we still need help. This trip is taking days longer than it normally would, as we are treating them like we would a newborn/injured/trying to die baby. And yes, we are using most of the same meds we would an orphan foal. Please help and share far and wide. I apologize as my email server is going crazy and not working properly.   Clock is Ticking for Grandma Gracie
I received a call yesterday for this beautiful, very senior, very starved mare. She was dumped in the slaughter pipeline and her time is running out. We need a total of $1500 for the shared transport, and about $150 to finish Selena and JJ's bail and $850 for bailing Grace and keeping her out of the trailer of death. Got a call for Selena and her unborn baby. Selena is only a baby herself, just three years old. For her to already be bred is ridiculous, and now they both have been thrown away like trash. I cannot bear to think of them boiling her hide and dumping her unborn baby on the slaughter floor. So I am asking, Will you please help me save them both? Time is of the essence. Destiny had her surgery and is doing very well. It was not an easy surgery, as her tumor was about 4 times the size of what you could see, and very deep inside her skull. Doc Ross and Doc Bonnie are awesome, and she is healing and already feeling a bit better. Time will tell if the cancer will come back. Right now we are just grateful she made it through the surgery with flying colors. Benny is starved beyond measure. He is so huge, and his coat is so thick it is really hard to see how thin he is. He needs lots of prayers at this point. A sweeter soul you will never meet. Riddick, the horse who was down in the trailer, is safely at Dustin Time Rescue in Pocatello Idaho. We need lots of help to save Selena, pay for the special needs feed, meds etc. that these kids need, pay for transport and pay the vet bill. I know it is alot, but Selena needs us and fast. Yesterday was a bit terrifying as we watched the weak, emaciated, blind belgian struggling to get up after falling in the trailer. As you can see, he could barely get up, crashed on to the ground and was unable to rise for a long time. He literally quit and would have died if we did not have our emergency supplies. (Now I need to replenish our kit, as we used up all our stuff.) Thankfully we carry emergency meds and supplies, and after a few hours of continuous care he was able to stand and eventually load into my trailer. It was a very slow and scary ride home. However, he did not fall again, and after more critical care last night, he did make it through the night and is doing a bit better. He is still not even close to being out of the woods yet. We were in contact with Doc and Dustin Time Rescue who actually pulled him. (Doc is sick and was unable to see him, but walked me through any questions that came up.) Destiny's eye is much worse. I am going to have to relieve some of the pressure until Doc can do her surgery. Her hoof actually scares me the most as it is split all the way up to her coronet band, and is oozing some type of infection. ALL these kids are in horrific shape and Benny is starving as well. He is literally skin and bones under all that hair. We still have not covered his costs to get to Fallon, nor the expenses to bring these kids home from there. I do not get paid for any of this, but I do need to pay my ranch hand. I am thanking God that my little voice said to bring Manny. None of us gals could have done what he did and the whole day was crazy. Loading a blind horse, especially one that has been falling down is very dangerous, but he handled it like a champ. I was told Destiny was horrible to load and would try to jump panels. Luckily, she and I had bonded, and I simply put a rope around her neck, made a halter and told her I was asking her, not telling her to load. I told her I couldn't help her unless we got her home. I do know they don't understand all our words, but they darn sure understand energy and she trusted me. She walked calmly up and put her foot in the trailer. I handed her rope to Manny and he walked her in the rest of the way. We are going to need lots of help to fix her hoof, have her eye surgery, and get these precious kids everything they need. I was not expecting anything like what I found. Everything was so much worse. I am so grateful to Manny for being there, doing whatever I asked immediately and just being plain awesome. No one else I know is capable (physically for sure) of doing what was needed yesterday. Us old gals are simply too broken. I committed and said "YES, Please load him." We still need $1366 to cover the remaining costs we incurred to save him. We are Chilly Pepper - MIRACLE MUSTANG, and y'all have always come through. This just happened. PLEASE HELP ME FILL THAT SPOT. Benny does not want to die. Let's give him a Mustang Miracle. I had to commit on faith. Please help me save him. I guess God had a reason for that trailer to not be loaded when it was supposed to.
