About Chilly Pepper

Picture
My name is Chilly Pepper & I'm a Miracle Mustang.  The picture you see here was me AFTER I had been fed and cared for for 24 hours.   I was an orphan wild mustang and was found after being alone in the snow, frozen and hungry for two days alone with my dead mom.  I almost died numerous times in the next two weeks, but am now a healthy growing filly.   I lived in Palomino's house (my new mom) for a month until I was strong enough to go outside.

The rescue is to help save other orphans like myself.  Nevada officials have ordered orphan like myself to be destroyed, and in the Sheldon roundups in Oregon and Nevada, (for instance), newborn foals are chased with their bands by helicopters.  Many are destroyed, killed or hurt so badly they cannot survive.  Those that do make it often are separated from their moms and become orphans.

We will also be providing equine therapy for battered/disabled women and children.  It is a wonderful chance for broken and hurt souls to heal one another in a safe and peaceful environment.

I, Chilly Pepper, have also been working (and will continue) with Terri Farley, the fabulous author of the Phantom Stallion series.  We will continue to share the wonders of our heritage and the horror that we now face with some of the decisions being made by man.  We go to the schools and the kids can meet us and learn about what they can do, not only to help save the wild mustangs, but also to ease the tax burden and expenses that their own parents incur due to the irresponsible choices that have been made in the past by the government and BLM.

We look forward to meeting others who care about my family (the wild mustangs) and want to help save us.  We will be raising funds for the care, medical treatment and placement of our rescued horses.  We will also be raising money and gratefully accepting donations which allow us to provide equine therapy and to be able to travel to the kids so those who would otherwise never get to meet a horse, let alone a real live mustang, can enjoy the wonder of touching us and knowing us in person.

Anyone wanting to help can contact my mom at 530 474 5197  or   530 339 1458 or write to 30027 Highway 44 East, Shingletown, CA  96088.

Thank you and God Bless everyone who puts the needs of someone else before their own, no matter how large or small an act.
